Syd lives with me, my husband and our son in a lovely sunny spot by the sea in Devon.
We love getting out and about in our big blue bus and worship at the temple of all that is vee dub!

Van Fest.Really laid back vibe. Hoping to do show and shine this year ;-)

Either
a barn door splitie
OR
an early 60's westie splittie-
In mint condition please!

All pale into insignificance since we got syd!

Exeter AirCooled.

Need to finish this one first!

1972 bay bus in Neptune blue. Australian import, low light, 1600 engine with a Camp-mobile conversion and right hand drive.

We found Syd at South West splitz in Exeter where he had been resting for a couple of months after his long journey from Down Under.
Sydney is a very solid bus, virtually rust free and is a straight as a die but we felt he needed a little TLC, so we booked him in for a pampering session with V Bays international, Kenniford for a good old pimping up! They gave him the works-new interior, leather seats, re-spray etc. Its taken years off him-though there still a little tweeking to be done.

G'day Syd!

Lovely to hear from you mate.  My owners Clare and Simon (especially Simon) love Cream Tea's too!  They look pretty nice, but I'd rather have a nice pint of unleaded wouldn't you?

Clare & Simon found a few bits in me from the land down under.  A lighter, ciggy papers and some coins.  I think that's it.  Oh and a cool Peace & Love Sticker.   Also a lot of dust!

Did you come from Sydney itself?  I did.  I wish I could find out more about where I used to live.  Clare and Simon went to Sydney last year, and they said it was lovely.  All I know is that it sure was warmer over there!  Do you live in a garage or outside?  I've got a cover, but I'm still bloody freezing.

Anyway just got back from Tescos with Clare.  She's using me at the moment because her Mini is off the road.  People laugh at her when she drives me, cause she looks like a child!!

Anyway, take it easy mate and speak soon.  Are you going to any shows this year?

Syd x

G'day Syd!

I would love to be your friend!

Do you live in Exeter?  I have an Auntie in Bideford!  Will you be doing RTTS this year.  I am and I can't wait!

Two toots back atcha whenst we pass!
We didn't find anything of interest in Gypsy when we first got her, but she did have her Santa Monica parking pass still stuck against the rear window.
Afraid I can't remember the name of the garage in Exmouth that did the respray, but it was near the Marina (he does a lot of veedubs apparently). It wasnt a bare metal spray job but it was still an excellent peice of work...well worth the £1k!
Anywho... roll on the beech days and may you be spared the rust demon till then.

There is a few dubs around my area but i suppose this time of year everyone has got them stored away. I am intouch with a guy who lives local who has an earlier bay, he gives me loads of advise when i need it.

I have just had full ownership history back from the DVLA, it's only a fiver. I was lacking a lot of information when i bought dixie, i only had history from 2001, now i have it from 1973.

Are you going to dubfreeze this year?? I am going but not going to take the camper as i don't have the heat exchangers working yet and it's gonna be cold.

How doos Moomin!
Thanks for stopping by yesterday, I was shocked to find how small the world is (take a look at the reg on my ex westie...which was respayed in Exmouth after buying from California via South West Splitz!!)
Hopefully we can catch up at a fest sometime!
